The Centre for Migrant and Refugee Health (CMRH) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant under the Australia Day Community Grants Program 2024, administered by the National Australia Day Council (NADC).
This grant will enable the CMRH to host community-driven events and initiatives in celebration of Australia Day 2024, embracing the national theme: “Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. We’re all part of the story.”
Mr. Mabor Majur Chadhuol, Executive Director of the CMRH, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and support. “This grant represents a significant opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on our shared journey, and celebrate the diversity that makes Australia truly unique. We are excited to create a space where all voices, including those of migrants and refugees, can contribute to the broader Australian story.”
The funding will facilitate inclusive activities aimed at fostering understanding, respect, and celebration among the diverse communities represented in the region. The program will highlight the experiences and contributions of migrants and refugees, reinforcing the importance of unity and shared history in building a stronger, more cohesive nation.
The Centre for Migrant and Refugee Health thanks the NADC for its support and looks forward to engaging with the broader community to create meaningful Australia Day experiences in 2024.
