Today, the two Executive Director have met to explore the avenue of partnership and collaboration. With growing needs around research, policy support and advocacy in mental health, family, and domestic violence in African-Australian Communities. Pragmatic research and advocacy are required to address challenges and issues in mental health, family, and domestic violence.
The Action research Centre Limited was established by Dr Titus S. Olorunnisola, a researcher in theology and humanities with over ten years` experience in family and domestic violence. The Centre for Migrant and Refugee Health has vest interest to support and advocate to addressing family and domestic violence in African- Australian Communities.
African Australians are also facing a range of unique experience and challenges in settlement and integration in Australia. Among others, lack of housing, limited employment opportunities and access to education act as barriers to successful settlement and social cohesion.
The partnership and collaboration anticipated will be strategic and may help build a constructive response from the policymakers in government and non-government sectors, service providers, academicians, and the broader Australian Communities
